Goodbye old “furry-self identity”

Goodbye old “furry-self identity”

“Who you are is a movement” – Thomas Huebl
transformation, humanity's floweringThese poppies that grow and bloom outside my kitchen window every spring have been my teacher and mirror for many years. Whatever happens to them I take personally, as shared delight and also reflection or guidance.

This sequence is such visual storyboard of the process we all go through during any transition, and it’s the process we are collectively engaged in as a species. Right now, it seems, we are in the phase where the pressure is building up in our old “furry-self identity”, a long contracted state.

First we feel the pressure that the old form is getting too tight for us. This pressure might cause fear or shame or anger or depression. “What is going on?” we wonder.
Perhaps we are losing our beautiful old “furry-self identity” and don’t know what lies ahead.

Why not think like a poppy and simply not think at all? Trust the process. Just emerge, as your shiny shimmery self.

As a teenager I remember this being described by Hermann Hesse in his novel Demian
“The bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must first destroy a world.”

I don’t think we need to destroy anything accept the belief that our identity is static.
